I am curious about the differences between the fitment of a AW30-40 vs AW-71 with the intention of evaluating the feasability of a transplant behind a B230FT.
They are run in some supra turbos and lexus .
ratios in 960 were
Gear ratios: (1) 2.80:1 (2) 1.53:1 (3) 1.00:1 (4) 0.71:1
vs AW71
Gear ratios: (1) 2.45:1 (2) 1.45:1 (3) 1.00:1 (4) 0.69:1
vs AW 72
Gear ratios: (1) 2.83:1 (2) 1.49:1 (3) 1.00:1 (4) 0.73:1
The main appeal is a stronger, intelligent trans, that has a lock up TC.
Potential tweaking of the ECU.
Main Concern is the mechanical installation.
Given a doner 960, whats really different
Does anyone have access to VADIS to chech at what point heading rearward the part numbers change :)
I have assessed that the Wiring / Electronics are do-able.
