wipers and blown fuse for '89 240 wagon.... 200 1989

i've read the post from back in 1998 on this subject...i was just wondering if there is a step by step process someone could supply me with on how to test the motor and relay and stuff....i want to try and do it on my own (or if you could look at the other post ...there are a couple of suggestions there that don't have any directions with them). my motor also needs replacing...wondering if just replacing/fixing the motor would solve the blown fuse problem. also could anyone give me an extimate on how much time is envolve with figuring out the blown fuse prob + replacing the motor...i'm going to try and work on this tonight...so i have about 5 hours available?

thanks for the advice!
