Turbo Volvo Fuel Pump help needed... 200 1985

My brother inlaw has an 82 244 2 door with an 85 turbo intercooler motor. Everything was swapped professionally so everything is all intact. My bro inlaw had to bring it to volvo for a stalling problem. He was told he has a bad fuel pump which i figured was the problem as well. To fix it they want to change all fuel lines, sending unit and some secondary pump/filter thing for $1100!!! Can you shed some light on this matter? Can I fix it? I am good with auto mechanics... Can you give me any tips here advice etc. etc. I don't want my bro-inlaw to get ripped off on this
matter...
