Interchangability of engine ECU? 200 1988

Mine is an 0-280-000-554.

It seems like there are at least two other LH jet computers that came with the same engine. 0-280-000-544, and 0-280-000-561 ('89 240. LH 2.4?)

Does anyone know if they are interchangable, what the differences are, and if it is ever advisable to use a different part number. (For example: "The 554 supercedes the 544 to fix problem. Always use the 554", or "All 2.2 LH jet computers are interchangable, but you can't use a 2.4 computer"

etc.

I'm trying to buy a spare computer, and if some are interchangable, I can buy the cheap one.
