Hi All! My car's exhaust CO and HC levels are rising, compared to a year ago, and a mechanic has suggested that the catalytic converter may be wearing out (at 110,000 miles). Does a cat slowly degrade, or does it fail suddenly? The car is running well, and shows no other problems.
