Engine block serial # reference? 200 1982

I have an engine I believe to be unoriginal to my 240 wagon. The VIN pops up as a diesel but the engine is a Gasoline with what I believe to be a whitecap chrysler dist. Is there any source around that can tell me what engine my block serial number matches up to? The local Volvo dealer said they did not have anything that they could look up.
