I have just acquired a 82' 240 dl and have just noticed when i take off in first with a full load i get a terrible noise in the drive shaft. i have been told it might be the rubber dognut or the u joints, the previous owner told me that he just had the u-joints replaced so i am at a loss. i would like to repair this myself as i have knowledge of car repair and tools and not much green backs. there is a local volvo repair god, but i do not wish to add my hard earned green to his pocket, for i need it. if anyone has a clue i could use some advice thanks. Only makes noise in first and there are wear marks on the under carriage!?
