Best spot to hook up a voltmeter? 200 1992

Finally I've got a voltmeter and a bezel for the dash (upper left accessory location). Is there an obviously best place to connect the power lead and a best place to connect the lead for the light? The ignition switch is right there, but there are so many connections already I hesitate to mess with it. I could go over to the fuse box--but my guess is, there is a place closer to the meter that is easy enough to reach.

Also, how long leads should I make up to comfortably reach the right spots?
