Door Lock Stalk.... Oops.. 900

I just posted about removing the interior door trim and things went well for the most part (somehow, the window came out of the track; don't ask me how b/c i have no clue).

Well, in trying to put everything back together, the metal rod came off and I don't know how to get it back on. I know that the bent end (as opposed to the threaded end) goes into a hole somewhere, but where?

I found a little hole which i THINK the bent end should attach to, but it isn't secure and easily falls out. Did i inadvertantly break something?
