not your ordinary stalling problem 200

I've got a 1984 245 GLT intercooled wagon. Last month it began to miss when I was at cruising speeds. Not just a miss, but an actual cutting out of the motor with an on and off type feeling. I thought maybe bad gas or bad plugs. After fuel injection cleaner I installed Bosch platimums. Still the same. Yesterday, going down the highway, she just turned off! I down shifted, nothing. I noticed no lights on the dash. Then the lights came back on and she cranked right up. I remebered having a problem like this before with my old turbo sedan. Checked the number 7 fuse and it looked bad. There was even a melted spot on the fuse cover. I replaced the main fuel pump fuse and it seemed to be ok, but 7 miles down the road it happened again. Any suggestion as to where to go next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Robert
