not your ordinary stalling problem 200

Hmmm, warning lights not on when they should be, right? Have a look at the thin red wire connected on the rear of the alternator. That one gets fragile, looses insulation, the female clip breaks apart, and other wierd things.

(1) If that wire is not grounded, you get no warning lights. (2)If it is grounded via the connection on the alternator, you get lights that go out when the engine is running. (3)If it is grounded elsewhere, perhaps being chafed somewhere in the under-the-engine harness, you get lights all the time.

Conditions (1) and (3) also make the alternator not charge.

Have a look and post back.

Good Luck,

Bob
