I recently replaced the #1 wire from coil by splicing some new wire where it was bad. I got the car running again which was a relief. In fact it was running good for 15 min or so before it started to make a contact noise in the starter. There is a toggle switch under the dash that has to be turned on in order to start the car. When I went to turn off the engine because of the noise the engine kept running I took the key out and put the key in and the engine still ran. I even turned the switch off and it ran, I eventually diconeccted the coil to cut the engine. What could possible be going on at this point.Then when I went to start the car again it just made that overwinding starter noise, also causing me cut the engine again from the coil.
