shimmy during shifting-what could it be? 200

Two things have got me bewildered. when I engage into first, there is a noticable clunk that seems to come from the drivers side rear wheel (or there abouts). Second, when shifting, most of the time (not always) there is a significant shimmy from the drive train. U-joints are fairly new, as is the clutch. The motor mounts are less than a year old. I just need some place to start looking..
Thanks in advance...
