AM Antenna? 900 1994

I recently installed an aftermarket stereo, and everything works except I have no AM reception. Was the AM antenna separate from the FM? The only thing I didn't hook back up was the cable to the amp, since my new stereo bypasses it. Could this have anything to do with it?
