My car at 6-7psi of boost hasn't been running well. I finally got the fitting/T to make a nice inline gauge set up. I had to order them and they came in today.
So I install it.
I turn the key to the run position [my pumps are wired to turn on with an additional relay inline with the stock relay to turn on when the key is in the run spot] and the gauge reads 43. Start the car and it drops to 30-35psi at idle! I pinch the return line with an adjustable wrench, nothing changes. Pull the vaccum line off and it hits 43 + or - 1psi.
Swap out with a spare regulator, pressure drops to 20-25psi at idle, pul the vac
line and hits a little over 30psi.
I don't know if my regualtors [both of them being bad seems unlikely..] are bad or is it my main pump? It hits 43 when the pump is running by itself and the cars not running.
I read on the FAQ that if the pressure doesn't rise when pinching the return line the fuel pump itself is bad?
Thanks
