high heat car died 2 700

Ok finally got the RSR, plugged it in and still no start. Got back to the FAQ about the hall sensor. The main fuel pump runs when I turn it over. I plugged in my timming light to check for spark. No spark apparent with timing light when car is being turned over. Any other indications that the hall sensor is bad? I forgot to mention that the engine in this 1989 is a 1993. Wasn't sure the car had a hall sensor or rpm sensor. It appears from what I can see without removing the distributor that it has a hall sensor. I can not feel any or see any sensor on bellhousing. Any help or advice is much appreciated
Thanx UB
