Hello Everyone,
I currently have a constant idle speed of 1200rpm. It is beginning to worry me as emmissions are coming up. I have done the following:
1) Cleaned throttle body according to archives
2) Throttle linkage set correctly according to archives
3) Throttle switch set correctly according to archives, butterfly valve is
completely closed when idling
4) New IAC Valve
5) New Main Engine Wiring Harness
6) New Coolant Temp Sensor
After replacing the Main Engine Wiring Harness, the rpms increased from approximately 800 rpm to the current 1200 rpm, even though my tachometer in the car reads 2000 rpm for some reason!?! (any clues on this would be appreciated as well).
I notice that when I squeeze the hose leading to the IAC valve from the main air inlet, the RPMs decrease to roughly 750-800.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a related problem / symptom, but hot engine starting requires that I push the gas pedal, otherwise the idle rpm is erratic and much less than the desired 750-800 rpm.
Has anyone experienced similar problems or know of any way to begin identifying the cause of the erratic idling?
I would appreciate any and all suggestions that you may all have 8)
Many Thanks,
Jolly
