Poor A/C Performance 200 1987

I have an '87 240 wagon. The A/C works, just not very well. It will only keep me cool on days in the low to mid 80's. Just wondering what my options are. Don't think the system has any leaks. The A/C had the same mediocre performance for a few years. Want the cheapest way to get a cold blowing A/C.
