This is my second post here. 2 months ago I got a 1984 240 GL at an auction and am fixing it up. I have to say that it gets driven more than my Pontiac. I love it!
My question is this. It is a sedan, not a wagon. Is the rear seat removable? Does it fold down? I know that someone told me that the 240 seats are removable but I have only been able to find info on the DLs so far. If it is neither removable or folds down, I have to find a way to secure some 6 foot metal poles to the roof (camping) and I would really rather not do that.
In case anyone saw me in May when I posted, I have done a few things to the car so far as budget allows:
New front brakes
New rear brakes
New fuel filter
New air filter
All fluids checked/filled/changed, etc.
Stripped tire stud sawed off and replaced.
New brake "clips" in the front
New Alternator
New tires (not a necessity but one blew so I got all 4 done)
New lugnuts
As far as I know, I need to get some wires replaced around the alternator. They are cracked and I don't want any fires. Also, it needs aligned. I am getting there. Not bad for a gal who is just learning this stuff! Any info on the seat question or suggestions on what to get done to it or replaced next would reeeally be appreciated.
