Will a head off a 240 fit on a 740? 700

Hello again!

This is my problem: I want to replace the engine on a 1985 740 GLE (B230F, engine has the distributor on the back of the head) with an engine out of a 1990 240 (B230F with the distributor on the front and left side of the block). How do I proceed? Do I swap the heads? Can I use the distributor that came with the 240 engine (fuel inj. systems not equal I believe)? or can I just swap the camshaft and redo valve clearances? Please help! Thank you in advance.
