Overdrive seals 200

I had some problems with the overdrive not working in my '85 240 so from information gleaned here I determined that what was not working was the solenoid. The switch worked, and surprise surprise the relay worked perfectly. I went to the junkyard and pulled an OD solenoid off of another 240 that had a B230F in it. One main difference, the replacement had a grounding wire while the original did not. Anyway, I grounded the replacement to the vehicle and then jumped it so that it was behind the switch. It worked, a little rod clicked in and out when I hit the switch. So, I put the replacement in and bolted everything down tight. As soon as I turned the car on, trans fluid began leaking out profusely. What might be wrong? I looked at the replacement solenoid and everything looked great. No cracks, no bends, no chips, etc. Anybody know how I might fix this?

Thanks!
