I overlooked the coil connections while trying to solve my sputter. 200 1988

Entire month of August my brick would go into a sputtering, hiccup mode. Seemed to get better with hot humid days and worse on dry days. Sometimes would die at idle. Other times would go into an idle mode while at boulevard speed. Thought about air entering the fuel line thru a cracked pick up tube, but ruled that when a full tank didn't stop it. Throttle position switch was on the radar since this started after I cleaned the Throttle Body and may have gotten some carb cleaner in it. Wiring to the injectors were given some thought so I wiggled them to see if they shorted while the car was idling. Nope. Turns out it may have a simple connection to the negative side of the coil. Cleaned, tightened, drove 80 miles and not a single stammer. 180K and acts like he wants to stay in the game. I'll keep him a while longer now.
Rule: Don't overlook the simple stuff.
