Is this a normal fuel economy for my 88' 745 with auto tranny? 700

When I fill up its always around 45 litres. If I push it, I can sometimes get 450 kms' on one tank. So thats about 10 litres per 100kms of driving. Does that sound right for my car? Just seems like it uses alot more than it should, or its cause I had a turbo diesel before.
