Greetings from Cleveland...Looking to spruce up the Old Swede rather than spend big bananas on a new(er) vehicle, and gave it the once over. My '87 daily driver (185K and still humming along) has begun to show the effects of an attack of the dreaded Cleveland "tin worm" around the rocker panels as well as the right rear wheel arch and under the headlights. Went to the local body panel emporium, had the gentleman look up offerings for the 240, and found, much to my chagrin, that the catalogue had a boatload of stuff for the cars from '75 to '85 and that was about it. Pulled a pair of rocker panels out and was assured that they would fit only those years....held them up to the car and voila...a perfect match! Two panels for about $60 (They're about $250 each from the dealer). Next, tried a pre-formed right rear wheel arch that was listed as a match for the earlier years only. This was a little tougher to eyeball due to the fact that the mudflap prevents a really exact look. Has anyone out there had experience with this type of match? It looks close but I'd rather have the straight skinny from someone who's done it. How about it? Rear fender openings the same on the early cars as the later ones? Thanx.
