Changing an 81 DL w/auto to a 4-speed w/overdrive 200 1981

I have an 81 244 w/auto tranny, and just bought an 82 DL for parts. The 82 is a 4-speed w/overdrive. The 81 has only 104,000 on it and I would like to put the tranny out of the 82 into the 81 while keeping the 81's rearend. I live in the Denver area, and anything to give a little more pep is appreciated as we lose about 20% power because of being at 5280. I am assuming the ratio is a little higher on the auto and am concerned with speedo acuracy as well. I would appreciate any help on this matter, and thank you all in advance.
