Hi, all
Here is what I figured out so far on my problem with intermitent hazard switch and turn signals. First, I checked all fuses. I also checked and cleaned contects of all turn signal light bulbs and sockets, both in front and in the rear. Then I started looking for that thing that produces clicking sound when the turn signal or hazard switch is on. I figured out that the sound is coming from the "flasher unit" which is incorporated in a long black box behind the hazard swich button on the fron panel. (See picture below). I took it apart to check if I can identify any loose or bad contacts. There is a circuit board inside the black box. I could not find anything that would point to the source of the problem. It looks like my only option right now is to replace the whole "flasher unit" with a new one. (Unless somebody can tell me the procedure how to test it.)
Where can I get this thing from cheaply? I am afraid to ask my dealer because I am sure their price would be in triple digits. The nuit in my car was made in Japan by ALPS. The number on the board is ANJ971024E. Does anybody know the Volvo part number of the "flasher unit"? Thanks
Raphael
