Well, I started tinkering with the wiper motor and here's what I found out so far.
The original problem was that the wipers would work only whe it was not raining...yes I know this sounds stupid, but is true. So, I took apart the connector that goes into the wiper motor area, and cleaned it. Also, The ground from the engine was missing so I put it back properly with some new wire. Tried the wipers again, and they were dead for good. I then took the ground from the little plug, and ran it directly to the engine ground. The wipers worked!, but the fuse blew in 2 seconds :) So today I tried the following. I took apart the the extra ground I ran. I then took the ground wire from the same plug going into the switch, and spliced such that it was connected to the main ground as before, but with one exception. I cut the part of the ground that ran to the the firewall (meaning the part going to the relays etc...). I tried the wipers and now they work only on the high speed, but not the timed speeds (due to the missing relays from the ground cutting I suppose). However, after leaving the wipers on for a few minutes, the motor begins to smoke. So, I'm starting to think the motor has bit the dust, and it is not the grounds etc... The relays are fine...they were checked as well.
Any suggestions? Do you all agree it's the motor?
Thanks!
Mike
