any reason why pre '85 244 rocker panels wouldn't fit on an '86 245? 200

The rocker panels on an '81 245 in the junk yard looked the same to me as my '86 245... of course I didn't have the cars side by side...?

I can get the outer skin rocker panel for pre-1985 244's for $17 from Mill Supply out of Cleveland they don't sell anything for '86 and later 240's...

so I'm wondering if the panels are really different...

I've successfully put a '81 tailgate on the '86 so I think this should work as well...

anybody got a thought... ?

is there a difference between the 244's rocker panel and the 245???

for $17 it's almost worth trying it

BTW this is to replace rusted rocker panels (most of the rust is near the wheel well, some in the center of the panel.

????
