slips into OD 200 1983

After about 15min. of driving, when shifting my 4 spd. from 1st to 2nd the car will "shudder" and the trans. will shift into OD. No Od dash light appears!! So......2nd gear feels like 3rd..........3rd feels like 4th.......and 4th reacts like 5th!!!! Whats going on????? This will also happen in 3rd and 4th gear.
