intermittent no start 200 1983

Good morning,

Have an '83 245DL w/mileage bet. 150-200K. Have been driving the car for 2+ yrs now and ever since then have had a weird no start condition that shows up in maybe 1/25 starts.

After a long drive, on restarting the car w/in say 2 hrs., crank but no start on 1st attempt. No whirr from fuel pump as I recall. Then, presto, on 2nd attempt engine fires normally.

Had forgotten 'bout this behavior, hadn't driven for a while due to injury.

I'm willing to bet it's a relay, much on this car is 20 yrs. old.
