Keyless entry - horrible range! S90-V90 1998

Our 1998 V90 remote keyless entry is so weak you practically have to be standing beside the car and aiming the remote at the sensor to make it work. Most other keyless entry systems have great range like on our 1998 S70.

Is there any way to improve its performance?
