I just bought a '95 960 Wagon on Friday. I get it home, and it occasionally stalls for no reason, but will start right back up and run with no problems. I checked the FAQ here on how to get the ECU codes, and retrieved a 1-1-5 code. The chart in the FAQ does not list this code, so I search the message archives and found a couple of threads relating to codes 1-1-5 and 1-1-3 and how it was a issue with a "positive feed tie point beneath the intake manifold where 6 green wires are fused into one." The solution being to dig into this harness and re-crip and solder this joint.
A couple of questions:
1) Could this be my problem? I'm just getting the 1-1-5 code, and not the 1-1-3. If not, what else could it be, and how do I determine?
2) If it is this problem, how hard is it to do? I know nothing about electrical beyond the basics, but have done a lot of work on my own cars, and can follow directions well. Is this something I could try at home, or is it best left to a mechanic?
BTW... Other than this problem, I love the car. I bought it from a guy that was about a 3 hour drive away, and it was an absolute joy to drive on the highway. It's a beautiful car, inside and out, and is so comfortable to drive/ride in.
Thanks in advance for any help.
