re: rear lights 900

What is the proper orientation of the lead wires for the right rear tail/brake lights. There are two wires a brown/white and yellow I think, this bulb had been out for a while and replced this week however after only a couple of days it has blown again, had to have entire rear light housing replaced this summer after someone backed into and smashed. Is it possible that the mechanic who put it in did not attach the proper leads to the connections on the light, right now i have brown on bottom and yellow on top.Looked at wiring diagram in UK Haynes manual for 940 and it might as well be in swedish for it helped. Please advise much appreciated.
