Leaking vacuum fittings under dash 900 1996

I have a 96 964. I hear a hissing noise coming from under the passenger side dash. The dealer tells me that they are leaking vacuum diaphrams and wants about $600 to get in and fix the problem. The noise stops when I turn off the recirc on the AC. When I step on the accelerator the AC dies out. All symptoms point to vacuum leaks. Anyone tried this on by themselves - if so - any advice? I know my way around a tool box and worked on cars (VW) but never a Volvo. Many Thanks - Rick
