Broken Headlight switch=can't drive at night! 200 1983

Last year my son had the original 83 headlight switch break and an Indie Mechanic (Volvos Only) replaced it with a generic switch...it just broke again tonight...luckily I was just parking the car in my driveway when I heard the small "clinkle" of little parts flying off behind the dash.
Is there a {PepBoys, Help,etc)equivalent of the original switch?
should I bite the bullet and go to the dealer?
