On a couple of my 7-9 series cars, the door hinges seem to keep cracking when opening and closing inspite of lubrication. If the spring is lifted slightly, it seems to cure the problem. Just use a large screwdriver and raise it a quarter inch or so and problem seems to go away. Good time to lube the hinges and spring also.
