uneven tire wear on a '97 960 900 1997

Hi All,

I observed uneven wear on the rear tires of my '97 960 (about 80K). The right side wore out more than the left. The front tires didn't seem to have this. I got a new set of tires installed and want to fix this problem before same happens to this set of tires.

Also, I observe the right side wheels have lot of brake dust(Volvo rotors and pads) and left rear wheel has very little brake dust. I don't know if the uneven tire wear and the amount of brake dust is just coincidence.

When the wheel alignment was done last time, the lower control arm bushings were broke and had them fixed recently. I am going to get the wheels aligned shortly.

The dealer says it is an alignment problem(no pull in steering wheel, goes straight) but I have a feeling it might be more than that. It looks like the right side tires are taking more weight and doing more work than the left side (from more tire wear and more brake dust).

Anybody seen something like this or have any idea what is causing this ? Will wheel alignment fix this problem or is there more to it ? Appreciate any insight into this problem.

Thanks in advance.
