'95 960 How do others check trans fluid level 900 1995

My '95 960 AW 30-40 trans has a short dipstick that is only accessible with a long (special Volvo?) tool. There is a recess in the yellow plastic handle that accommodates a 1/2" drive and it is held in place by a spring loaded locking tab. It is way down below the brake booster.

Just wondering what handy methods others use to get at this thing?
