'95 960 How do others check trans fluid level

I acknowledge the responses about long arms etc., but I am looking for something a little more elegant. I would be nice to be able to check the level with the ease typical of other cars. I really wonder what Volvo was thinking when they designed this dumb dipstick. Guess I'll have to build something from scratch.

And for adding fluid to the transmission: the existing arangement does not make the job very easy.
