What if? Timing Belt is one tooth off. What is worst case scenario? 200 1988

I've recently replaced my timing belt on my 88 245. I haven't started the engine yet as I'm doing lots and lots of other maintenance also. This is my first timing belt replacement so I'm a little nervous. What if I was one tooth off or my marks weren't lined up perfectly? What will happen to my little B230F upon start up? Will it just run rough or will I see valve shooting past my ear? LOL

Thanks in advance,

-Chris
