Gorilla Grip lock... a review of sorts 700

Someone asked for me to report back on my experience with the Gorilla Grip wheel lock, which I recently ordered from IPD.

Well... I've decided to send it back... without even taking it out of the shrink wrap package. Why? It's just too darn heavy (9 lbs)... too clunky and unwieldy for me to be using on a daily basis. Plain and simple... I'm sure I'd use it for three weeks and then stop using it.

Not to say it isn't an impressive product. If I had to park my car in a high car-theft area, I'm sure I'd love it.

I'm STILL wondering just how sensitive the Gorilla Grip alarm is... I couldn't find any reviews of it online... after searching Google extensively. I'm not sure how effective it would be against someone busting a window to steal something out of the back seat.

As far as the anti-theft aspect, I'm sure it works fine. But I thought Volvos already had lots of that built into the steering wheel lock, etc. Anyhow, there's a brand new BMW and Saab up the alley, so they'd no doubt steal those first.

I'm thinking for $20 more, I can get an under the hood alarm system... that would be lots easier to live with. Wished they'd just make a SIMPLE alarm... I don't need one that blinks the tail lights, lights the overhead interior light, starts the car from a distance, and all that!
