Need new engine.

I am thinking about rebuilding vs junk yard engine. What is the cost range of rebuilding an engine vs. cost of putting in a junkyard engine (B230FT) w/o turbo. The current engine has a rod knock (106K) and is leaking oil from the front seals. How big of a job is just new connecting rods? Thanks for any advise etc.
