HELP. Sunroof open and I fell the rain a'comin 700 1989

My sunroof will not close. When I push the button it moves forward bout 2 inches then stops. I then push with someone else holding the button and i get another 3 inches then I get to much resistance. How do I manually shut it without removing the motor.
