1974 163E Tune Up Recommendations?? 140-160 1974

Fellow Bricksters,

I just bought a nice 1974 164E over the weekend and need to tune it up. I was wondering if regular parts from NAPA and/or Pep Boys (non OEM Volvo) will do? OR, should I only buy original Bosch and Volvo parts?

I already bought a set of 6 Bosch Super spark plugs at $.99/each. Are these OK to use? Should I go with the Platinums? Or NKGs?

NAPA has a set of spark plug wires for $19.99 which seems like a good deal, but will they suffice?

I hope to replace the distributor cap ($15 at NAPA) and rotor ($6 at NAPA) as well.

Any thoughts/recommendations on parts brands or any other tune up parts I should attend to? And, what would be the best oil to use? I bought Castrol Syntec Blend 10W-40 (I live in Richmond, VA)....what are the best oils to use with the B30E engines?

The air filter is already clean & new. Not sure about the thermostat.....

Thanks in advance for any advice you might provide.
