Who was it who said that any time a car has a problem, the first
three potential causes are (in order of likelyhood):
1: the points
2: the points
3: the points
Anyhow, I've actually just sanded the peaks off of pretty nackered
points and then driven the car for another year before replacing
the points. I think the most important thing is that they both
open *and* close. Smooth is just a bonus.
