Hi,
My friend just gave me his 1982-240, B-23E (not turbo) with CI-system. I would like to drive it at a storage building in the country. It was running last summer and occasionaly hard to start. Some Christmas gift ... there are very good parts to recover though.
Right now the engine wont start. All fuses are ok. I added gas while starting but there was no effect. So, I removed plug no. 1 and left it connected laying on the engine to see any sparks. There was occasionally one spark when I stopped the starter; just that. Distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires look good. I used an other ignition coil and there is no change.
Looks like there is an electrical problem. Here are my questions:
1-Can I feed ignition coil direct from the battery?
2-Fuel injection pump relay is brown no : 1 323 152. I will resolder it before next trial.
Can I replace it with white 3 523 808 ?
Does that relay interfere with ignition?
3-What else could I check and how?
Thanks ahead for any reply.
