Overdrive doesn't work 200 1985

My 1985 245DL with B230F non-turbo automatic has an overdrive button. The dashboard arrow is lit all the time, despite my pushing the button on the shifter. The engine revs but shifts well. I'm wondering what's wrong, eg relay switch which I don't know where it's located. Thanks in advance
