What Ilearned about 240 batteries

Hi Guys -

Tried this evening to install a battery from a 1986 240 into an 1988 240. T'wont fit.

The new one is not as tall, not as long, and has "feet" close to the bottom on four sides. The older one - longer and taller - had feet that on the sides do not go along the entire side, and on the ends are too high from the bottom of the battery.

The cables on the 1988 are sized for negative on the fender side, and are shorter since the battery is not as tall.

The old battery would not clamp down, and the cables wouldn't reach the reversed terminals.

Got some isometric exercise lugging batteries around, and learned something, but still not sure if wifemobile (1988) battery is failing.

Didn't really need the exercise. Already workout 3 days a week (cardiac re-hab)

Regards,

Bob
