Blower motor - replace resistor and switch too ? 200

I am getting ready to start on this long overdue dreaded project this weekend . So far it looks like I'll use the Don Foster / Art Benstein chop the housing with dremel method ( any other suggestions ) . All speeds on the motor work but it is just gotten too noisy and even locks up in spite of lubing. Do I need to really replace the resistor and switch too ? - thanks
