I decided it was time to replace the ditributor cap/rotor on the kids 1985 740 non-turbo. After putting on the new parts the car refused to start. I put on the old components thinking I may have been sent the wrong parts and still no go. After checking I realize I have no spark. The resistance of the coil primary and secondary circuits is within specs. When I turn the ignition on I get 12 volts to both primary posts on the coil. Is this how it should be? I am at a total loss as to what went wrong and what to check next. Thanks, Dave F.
